WAR IN THE EAST: Pan-African Parliament Mission Set to Assess Security Situation in the East With View of Definitively Establishing Peace

A mission from the permanent commission of the Pan-African parliament responsible for cooperation is set to arrive in Kinshasa with a view of assessing the security situation in the eastern region of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The mission, tasked to work on improved international relations and conflict resolution, will meet representatives from the DR Congo in the Pan-African Parliament and hold talks that will take place from 25th to 30th November, 2024.

This Commission will also be able to assess the progress made after the 2023 elections, which led to the establishment of the leaders of new institutions.

The security situation in DR Congo has deteriorated following massive advancement of the M23 rebels who are supported by Rwanda.
