A man who has been illegally detained at Kinshasa’s Kinkole Prison has died in his cell due to the inhumane living conditions at the facility.
Cedric Alimasi who had been detained at Kinkole Prison for over a month without trial, was being due to be charged for alleged spread of false rumours and inciting the public to rebel against the government.
Alimasi was found dead in his cell on Monday evening after failing to survive the poor living conditions at the prison.
The Attorney General at the Court of Cassation Firmin M’vonde Mambu has since suspended the Public Prosecutor at the Kinshasa/Kinkole High Court Mpiaka Mabiala after the unfortunate incident.
