FIRST LADY SCHOLARSHIPS SCAM: Denise Nyakeru’s Excelencia Academica Scholarships Included in State Budget

Widespread theft and embezzlement of public funds continues to affect the Democratic Republic of Congo with the nation’s President Félix Tshisekedi and his family also adding to the roguery.

Tshisekedi’s wife, Denise Nyakeru has been acclaimed for having sponsored several of youths in Kinshasa academically through the “Excelencia Academica Scholarships” of her DNT Foundation.

Nyakeru claims to have sponsored the scholarships using her own and family’s resources but it has been revealed the program is fully funded by the state.

Revelations from the DR Congo’s state budgetary allocation for the Ministry of Education shows that government pays for Excelentia students.

This means that Nyakeru has since 2020, received through her foundation funding from government for the Excelentia program.
