MORE REBEL AGAINST TSHISEKEDI: After Corneille Nangaa, Laurent Sokoko Launches Rebellion Against Tshisekedi

Prominent music promoter and businessman Laurent Sokoko has formed a new rebel movement as he aims to oust DR Congo President Félix Tshisekedi.

Sokoko, a former ally of Tshisekedi, announced the formation of “Movement for the Total Liberation of the Democratic Republic of Congo” on Tuesday night.

He has cited Tshisekedi for incompetence and dictatorship style of governance which he aims to end by ousting the country’s leader.

Sokoko has also made several revelations of illegal business deals in which Tshisekedi had been involved.

According to Sokoko, Tshisekedi and Kinshasa-based Lebanese businessman Abed Achour had dubiously benefited from the acquisition of the Invest Hotel as well the administrative tower of the RTNC, the nation’s broadcasting corporation.

Sokoko joins a growing number of prominent figures in the DR Congo have continued to form rebel movements in a bid to oust Tshisekedi.
