DR Congo’s imposter president Félix Tshisekedi has continued to receive heavy backlash from the main political forces in the country over his proposed move to revise the Constitution.
Opposition Ensemble Pour la Republique party leader Moïse Katumbi’s spokesperson Olivier Kamitatu has described Tshisekedi as a manipulator of opinion for shifting to propose for the revision of the Constitution which he had defended some years ago.
Tshisekedi is proposing to amend the Constitution despite having initially stood against it while in opposition.
“He is a man who manipulates opinion. A few years ago, Félix Tshisekedi was at our side to defend the Constitution. He himself declared that his body would have to be stepped on so that this Constitution could be changed,” Kamitatu said.
Kamitatu has wondered how Tshisekedi would today turn to muzzle the same Constitution which he defended together with other young people who lost their lives in the process few years ago.
“Moise Katumbi brought Felix Tshisekedi to the Quai d’Orsay, to Foreign Affairs, to the White House to together fight for the maintenance of all the provisions of the Constitution. Young Congolese people were led to demonstrate, some were killed. Rossy Tshimanga, Thérèse Kapangala, lost their lives in this fight led by the entire opposition, Moïse Katumbi, Felix Tshisekedi.”
He added: “And, today, a few years later, out of amnesia, he spits on the memory of these victims, these martyrs, simply for a completely personal desire to retain power beyond constitutional mandates.”
Kamitatu also warned Tshisekedi that he risks facing the wrath of the Congolese population who are ready to defend their Constitution.
“Obviously, Felix Tshisekedi will have a difficult time facing the Congolese people who are extremely jealous of the provisions of this Constitution and particularly those relating to the alternation of power after the presidential mandate,” he wrote on X.
