A video by a ruling party, UDPS youth of kasai origin, has been shared widely online proposing violence and sending threats to Congolese political leaders of mixed race hailing from regions outside Mbuji Mai and Kasai Oriental.
Jules Munyere, a known notorious thug, has composed his message driven by hate and xenophobic rhetoric urging violence against popular opposition leader Moise Katumbi.
Welding a machete, Munyere is calling for the killing of Congolese opposition leaders of mixed color and their extermination.
“Moise Katumbi, your brothers are albinos. Look at your color. You are not our brother,” he said.
Munyere has also targeted Olivier Kamitatu, Kengo wa Ndondo and Jean Claude Muyambo among others. Katumbi and Kamitatu are the key players in the opposition Together for Change. Kengo, Muyambo and others are part of other opposition parties.
On instruction from Tshisekedi and the UDPS leadership, Munyere omits talking about kasais of mixed race who are doing business in the Democratic Republic of Congo such as Bestine Kazadi and Vidiye Tshimanga, among others.
This approach exposes Munyere’s scheme as a tribal and discriminatory agenda that is fueling the rising tension in the DRC.
