Opposition deputies (members of parliament) today walked out on the speaker boycotting the introduction of a bill on the distribution of seats in the house.
The MPs have accused Christophe Mboso of working with the CENI to weaken the opposition and grant the ruling coalition advantage in the future house.
“The deputies, mostly members of the Common Front for Congo (FCC) have decided not to support the dictatorship of Mr. Tshisekedi, nor the electoral hold up that he has already planned, and are
therefore not going to participate in the examination and the vote of a bill already biased and corrupt with dramatic and incalculable consequences on the future of our democracy and the Republic,” said one representative.
DRC opposition has expressed displeasure on the composition of the CENI and process it has used to register voters.
