[VIDEO] TRAGIC: Hundreds Feared Dead In Bukavu After 600 Homes Are Reduced To Rubble

Barely a few weeks after another part of Kivu was struck by disaster in which floods claimed more than 1000 lives, the Democratic Republic of Congo’s east has been struck by fire which has destroyed over 600 homes.

Several homes on Avenue Camp Zaire, located in the town of Kadutu in Bukavu (South Kivu), were gutted by a mysterious fire on Saturday night.

Authorities are yet to establish the cause of the fire. The poorly equipped fire fighting unit of Bukavu could not respond to tge disaster as they didn’t have sufficient equipment.
