Ensemble pour la République president Moise Katumbi made an impromptu visit to the commune of Kenya in Lubumbashi on Friday much to the delight of hundreds of residents.
Katumbi was in the area to attend the funeral of one of his aides who lost his father.
The former Katanga governor was in one of Lubumbashi’s densely populated areas for the death of Mr Kij Chey, the biological
father of his aide Mutombo Kachaka.
Hundreds gathered when word went round that Katumbi was in the area.
After consoling the bereaved family, Katumbi took a walk through the communty bringing business to a virtual standstill.
Hundreds of people followed him up until he made another stop to meet with the mother of Salomon Kalonda Della.
Salomon, Katumbi’s special advisor, is held in a military prison in Kinshasa on trumped up charges.
