Opposition Envol president Delly Sesanga yesterday survived a missile to his head during a visit to Kananga in Kasai Central where he was touring on his Congo reformation campaign.
Sesanga escaped unhurt but a video of a projectile hitting his head while waving at residents of Kananga using the sunroof of his SUV has been shared widely on social media.
Kananga is seen as a stronghold of President Felix Tshisekedi as its dominated by Kasais who make up majority of the ruling UDPS political party.
Sesanga says he was disturbed but will not be deterred from preaching a peaceful political environment to keep the Congo out of unjustifiable violence ahead of the elections in December.
The official this morning attended mass at a Catholic Church in Kananga.
