Opposition coalition, Congo Ya Makasi candidate Moïse Katumbi has once again defied the acts of sabotage laid by the outgoing president Fèlix Tshisekedi and his regime.
Katumbi arrived this Tuesday afternoon in Lisala the capital of Mongala Province despite the numerous obstacles by the Tshisekedi regime to sabotage his scheduled campaign trail in the region.
Tshisekedi had first ordered for the withdrawal of the police officers assigned to provide security for Katumbi while in Lisala in an effort to deter the popular opposition candidate from going on with his trip.
However, Katumbi wasdetermined to deliver his message to the people of Lisala and still managed to arrive in the town much to the jubilation of the locals.
Katumbi suffered yet another setback as the ruling government dismantled the podium at the venue where the opposition leader was set to hold his campaign.
Alas Katumbi and his team demonstrated the reason they had been rated as the most organized amongst all during the campaign period and quickly arranged alternatives at another venue where scores of people were in attendance.
This latest record gathering pulled by Katumbi and the Congo Ya Makasi sends a strong statement about their popularity with Tshisekedi having been subjected to embarrassing questioning about his failure to even build a toilet in the area during his visit barely last evening.
