Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) opposition leader earlier today survived an assassination attempt by government security agents.
A bullet aimed in the direction on the passenger seat struck and injured his bodyguard.
DRC intel indicate that Katumbi was not in the targetted seat at the time the bullet struck.
The assassination attempt was part of the scheme devised in dispersing an opposition during a protest in Kinshasa today.
Four opposition leaders including Katumbi, Martin Fayulu, Delly Sesanga and Augustin Matata Ponyo organized the protest to highlight the high cost of living, insecurity, chaotic electoral process and the unending war in the east.
