[VIDEO] FRANCOPHONE GAMES: Tshisekedi’s Populist Idea Backfires; Crowd Boos Head Of State Over Weakening Currency

President Félix Tshisekedi may have thought delivering the Francophone Games will endear him to the Congolese population.

Unfortunately for the Head of State and the First Lady Denis Nyakeru, it was not the case when they showed up for the opening ceremony.

Their presence at Stade de Martyrs in Kinshasa to officially open the games did not go as they may have planned.

The populism agenda was met by a very vigilant people who reminded him that they had lost the purchasing power because of
the depreciation of the Congolese Francs which had weakened against foreign currencies especially the United States dollar.

Tshisekedi and his officials continue to get the public dissatisfaction of their management or mismanagement of the country.
