[VIDEO] ACT OF INTIMIDATION: Tshisekedi Throws Sea Of Army Officers On The Streets To Flex Muscles

Presisent Felix Tshisekedi has deployed several army personnel across the city in what his officials say is a routine parade.

Observers have however accused Tshisekedi of using the army to intimidate citizens.

The Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC) are holding peaceful processions in Kinshasa.

They have dubbed the operation as a “marche de dissuasion” or “deterrence march,” to show the unifying strength of the Congolese armed forces.

Organizers are using two simultaneous routes through the city, starting at Lumumba Boulevard Interchange (Echangeur Place) and ending at the Colonel Tshatshi Military Camp.

The mitilitary officials have organized 6,500 soldiers to participate in the march, while an additional 2,500 soldiers will be provided for security purposes.

Authorities have also deployed additional personnel around the protest march as a precaution.
