The security situation in the DR Congo city of Goma continues to be volatile and now further worsened by the ruling party’s cadres.
Ruling UDPS party youths have gone on rampage intimidating and raiding the public while impersonating as army soldiers.
The unscrupulous thugs, clad in military outfits, have been setting up check points at strategic business areas around the city where they collect money forcibly from poor civilians.
Local authorities have been informed about the illegal patrols by the UDPS thugs but have not acted on the situation as these thugs are sponsored by senior government officials.
The thuggery has increased in recent following Minister of Justice Constant Mutamba’s call on the public to take the law into their own hands by going ahead to form militias in order to arrest Rwandan President Paul Kagame.
