Detained Opposition Ensemble Pour la Republique President Moïse Katumbi’s special advisor Salomon Kalonda has been transferred to hospital to seek medical attention as he is currently ailed.
Having been under state custody at Ndolo Military Prison since May at the order of ruthless DR Congo leader Fèlix Tshisekedi, Kalonda’s health has failed him in the past few days owing to the inhumane conditions at the prison.
On Tuesday, Kalonda had to be taken to hospital for appropriate medical check ups and care as he prepares for his hearing set for next Monday, 18th September 2023.
“Our client Salomon Idi KALONDA DELLA was transferred to a medical center for appropriate care. His stay in hospital should allow him a speedy recovery in order to vigorously demonstrate his innocence,” confirmed Kalonda’s lawyer Hervé Diakese.
Kalonda was arrested on May 30 at Ndjili International Airport in Kinshasa and has been accused of conspiring with M23 rebels to overthrow Tshisekedi as well as keeping contact with officials from Rwandan army with the aim of militarily attacking the DR Congo, charge he has denied.
