The plane recently reported to have started flying some of President Felix Tshisekedi’s valuable assets out of the country has returned, sources at N’djili International Airport have disclosed.
Tshisekedi has started preparing for his exit after the upcoming 2023 General Elections next week on Wednesday.
In the midst of a difficult campaign period, Tshisekedi has forseen his imminent loss in the 20 December polls and has started planning for his post-presidential life.
According to flight tracker, flight P4-EST left Dubai around 4:00 AM and stopped over in Gulu, Uganda before connected to N’djili.
The flight becomes untraceable after the stop-over at N’djili International Airport where further searches show it landed about 40 minutes after the stop-over in Uganda.
It’s unclear what the flight was doing in Uganda but sources say Tshisekedi has a good relationship with Yoweri Museveni and some rebels in Uganda who are also friends of Jean-Pierre Bemba from his days as a warlord.
Local security and aviation sources first disclosed on December 6 that Tshisekedi had between December 4 to 6 started packing his family’s private properties and dispatched them to Brussels and Dubai via the United Arab Emirates.
Opposition candidate Moïse Katumbi is widely tipped to win the upcoming elections set for 20th December ahead of Tshisekedi who has struggled to convince the electorate to vote him back into office after an underwhelming five-year term.
Tshisekedi has been booed at most of his rallies countrywide increasing the fears he is losing the election.
