Democratic Republic of Congo President Fèlix Tshisekedi has hinted on his mission to hold on to power and hand it over to his wife in 2028.
Posting on his parody X (formerly Twitter) social media account named Benita Tshisekedi Etat de Droit, Tshisekedi says power in the DRC has been concentrated across all regions but the east where his wife hails.
On the same account which sometimes leaks information about the opposition or defends government projects, Tshisekedi says he was popular enough to win the December 20, 2023 polls.
Tshisekedi’s pseudonym account writes, “After the West, the North, the South & the Center, it would be wise for power to go to the East in 2028.
“Fatshi’s wish is that he be succeeded by a woman. A famous saying says well-ordered charity begins with oneself, or @DeniseNyakeru is one’s flesh & is from the East.”
Tshisekedi has been accused of practicing massive tribalism having filled his government with tribesmates.
It appears the head of state does not pay attention to the divisive approach which now romps in his wife who is known as a key figure in his government decisions.
