In the sad and precarious current state of affairs the country faces, the American human rights defenders have risen to speak against the ruling government whom they have accused of neglecting the mandate and pledge to their nation.
The Bill Clinton Foundation senior human rights activist Emmanuel Cole has spoken strongly against the leadership of DR Congo President Félix Tshisekedi for mismanaging the nation and neglecting his people.
Cole has regretted the recent acts of abductions and unlawful arrests of citizens such as opposition Ensemble Pour la Republique President Moïse Katumbi’s ally and former presidential aspirant Seth Kikuni.
“If I meet President Félix Tshisekedi, I will tell him that his regime has deteriorated. Despite its electoral promises in 2018, clandestine dungeons are increasing, leading to arbitrary arrests, illegal imprisonment, detentions, kidnappings and torture,” Cole wrote.
“I will respectfully ask him to close these dungeons before the end of his mandate, because power is fleeting and can be turned against him.”
