THIEVING KAZADI EXPOSED: Kinshasa Governor Reveals Finance Minister Nicolas Kazadi Approved Released of $13 Million For Street Lighting Project

Kinshasa Governor Gentiny Ngobila has revealed that Finance Minister Nicolas Kazadi is main man behind the embezzlement of US$13 million in a street lighting project that has not been completed.

In a special interview, Ngobila confirmed that Kazadi approved the payment of US$13 million to Turkish company Solektra Sarlu who installed just 185 out of the intended 3500 street lights on Kinshasa’s Elengesa Road.

“The Minister of Finance Nicolas Kazadi had made available to the company Solektra for the installation of 3500 street lights but to date this company has only installed 185 street lights on Elengesa Road” Ngobila revealed.

Solektra have since admitted having received full payment for the contract and repeatedly claim it has not completed the project due challenges encoutered with the clearing of its containers which have been blocked by the Inspectorate General of Finance (IGF) at the Port of Matadi.

However, the IGF deny having blocked any of the Turkish company’s containers at the Port of Matadi.
