High Honorary Representative of the Head of State at the 9th Francophonie Games Didier Tshiyoyo stormed the Ministry of Finance headquarters demanding for his outstanding arrears unpaid by the government for the past three years.
On Thursday, Tshiyoyo arrived at Minister of Finance Nicolas Kazadi’s office where he complained about the failure by government to pay him and his organizing committee’s outstanding salaries and bonuses.
Tshiyoyo claimed that Minister of Finance Nicolas Kazadi had swore to ensure that he and his committee are not paid their dues.
He called for the intervention of President Fèlix Tshisekedi who had remained silent on the matter over the past three years even after the disbursement of US$324 million for the games.
“I’m not leaving here, leaving here is to go either to Makala (prison) or to the hospital, you’re not going to kill me,” he said to the security agents who wanted to take him out of the premises by force.
“Do not touch me. I won’t leave here. Call the army, if you want,” he thumped out of breath.
Tshiyoyo reassured that he had made all arrangements to spend days and nights at the Ministry of Finance headquarters until his monies are paid.
