Congolese are may not be shocked at the two worlds they live in. But they are asking questions.
In Lubumbashi, a private citizen has built a university at an estimated cost of $10 million but the construction of a government university in the Kasai region where President Felix Tshisekedi’s relatives are in charge, those prospects of a decent public university have hit a snag.
The President’s relatives were given $42 million to build an ultra modern education facility but they only manage to go as far as constructing a slab for the building.
In Katanga, there’s jubilation at the completion of a new university. Even President Tshisekedi is taking credit for the facility.
But the Head of State has said nothing about the embezzled $42 million in Kasai. Anyway, this is the Congo of today.
