Rwandan Minister of Foreign Affairs Olivier Nduhungirehe has reiterated his nation’s commitment to the Luanda Process aimed finding a peace solution with the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Speaking after attending the launch of the reinforced Ad-hoc Verification Mechanism in Goma on Tuesday, Nduhungirehe said Rwanda’s main intention is to ensure that peace returns to eastern DR Congo.
“We are here so that there is peace, so that there is the mechanism for verifying the ceasefire which was agreed on August 4 and which must be respected, we, Rwanda, are still committed to the Luanda process,” Nduhungirehe declared.
On Tuesday, Nduhungirehe with his Rwandan delegation arrived in the North Province capital city of Goma where he held talks with DR Congo counterparts under the mediation of Angola.
