While Félix Tshisekedi has spent the entire time laying blames on Rwanda, his counterpart has exhibited exemplary leadership by providing a solution to the ongoing situation in the east of DR Congo.
Rwanda President Paul Kagame has proposed joint-coalition between his country’s armed forces and the DR Congo to fight the rampant March 23 Movement (M23) and Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda (FDLR) rebel groups.
On Wednesday, said it was “a question of give and take.” For him, the solution is simple: “We work together; we tackle your problem, but we also tackle mine.”
Kagame urged Tshisekedi and the DR Congo that his continued accusations against Rwanda of being involved in the conflict in eastern DRC by supporting the M23 would not help solve problem.
“For us, this problem is serious, it is a long-term security problem that we need to address. We want good neighbourliness, but the problem is how to achieve it. It is not at my expense or at the expense of the other person (Felix Tshisekedi),” Kagame said.
The FDLR is one of the largest foreign armed groups operating in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
