President of the National Assembly Vital Kamerhe says president Félix Tshisekedi is in a hurry and ready to negotiate with M23 Rebels and Rwanda over the security crisis in eastern DRC.
Kamerhe has told the National Assembly that Tshisekedi has been left with no option but to heed to the demands of M23 and Rwanda who have long sought negotiations.
In his speech during the opening of the extraordinary session of Parliament on Tuesday, Kamerhe said time was not on Tshisekedi’s side.
“Time is not on our side (…). The president wants to spare human lives (…). The president wants to negotiate, but not sell the Congo,” Kamerhe said.
The M23 rebels have seized the territories of North & South Kivu and continue to advance towards Kinshasa where they have threatened to oust Tshisekedi.
