Former Democratic Republic of Congo (DR ) thieving Finance Minister Nicolas Kazadi is no longer hiding his ambitions to return to the heart of power in the Félix Tshisekedi regime.
According to a source close to his entourage, Kazadi who was implicated in a scandal of embezzlement of over US$400 million public funds, has asserted that he wants to prove to his detractors that he remains a key actor in the Tshisekedi regime, going so far as to declare that he “eats the dog’s head with Félix Tshisekedi.”
Two options are on the table for the scandalous Kazadi: his own personal return into government or the placement of a trustee under his control.
Kazadi strategy to return into government has already raised concerns, given his involvement in the looting of public funds for the drilling, public street lighting projects which was probed and judged irregularly.
For many in the DR Congo, Kazadi’s return or appointment of one his relatives or trustees to the Ministry of Finance is a provocation to the Congolese people.
