The long-standing and key relationship between the China and DR Congo is on the rocks after the gruesome killing of three Chinese nationals by a presidential bandit.
The Chinese government have increased pressure on DR Congo’s impostor president Félix Tshisekedi to arrest General John Tshibangu.
General Tshibangu, a former rebel commander and close ally of Tshisekedi, murdered three Chinese nationals in Katanga region after robbing them of US$4 million, funds belonging to their company Good Time Steel Investments.
The bodies of the three Chinese nationals were secretly buried and later exhumed to be concealed to an unknown location.
The incidents have since threatened to China’s US$7 billion investment in the DR Congo with the latter likely to pull out should General Tshibangu and his accomplices continue to roam around freely.
