Neighbouring Congo President Denis Sassou Ngueso and his Angolan counterpart João Lourenço have held discussions over the ever-worsening security situation in eastern DR Congo.
President Lourenço, the AU appointed mediator for peace talks between DRC and Rwanda, has in Brazzaville on a working visit and paid courtesy call on President Ngueso.
The situation in eastern DR Congo and the ongoing tensions with Rwanda were among the subjects of discussions between the leaders.
Angolan President João Lourenço briefed President Ngueso over the progress of the Luanda Peace Process which had hit a snag last month.
The situation in the east remains volatile as the Congo Armed Forces (FARDC) and supporting missions continue their fight against the rampant M23 rebels.
