The Ministry of Justice has announced that it is set to put up for sale AFC/M23 rebel coalition leader Corneille Nangaa’s properties in the DR Congo.
In statement released today, the Ministry of Justice stated that it will proceed to the public sale of all the assets of Nangaa’s that were confiscated last year.
This decision follows the conviction of Corneille Nangaa, former chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI), for treason and participation in an insurgency movement.
Nangaa is currently in North Kivu region where he has led the AFC/M23 to seizing several mineral-rich territories in North Kivu and now extends his influence into the neighbouring South Kivu.
His ultimate ambition remains to oust Félix Tshisekedi and his government from power as he continues his advancement.
