Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) Minister of Justice Constant Mutamba has been admitted before the Court of Cassation to explain his role in the misappropriation of over US$37 million worth of public funds.
At the request of the Public Prosecutor Firmin Mvonde which was unanimously ratified by Parliament, prosecutions against Mutamba proceeded on Monday at the Court of Cassation in Kinshasa.
The Minister of Justice was represented by his Lawyers for the first hearing which took place with another appointment scheduled for Thursday 12th June, 2025.
In this case, Mutamba whilst acting together with other government officials, have been summoned to explain the misappropriation of over US$37 million meant for the construction of prison facilities in the DR Congo.
