Opposition Congo Ya Makasi coalition candidate Moïse Katumbi concluded his campaign trail on a powerful note as he drew an outstanding crowd in Kipushi of Haut-Katanga Province this afternoon.
Katumbi initially been scheduled to end his campaign with a visit to the city of Kananga, Kasai-Central Province but could not go on with his visit after being blocked by government.
However, that did not deter the Candidate Number 3 from delivering a sucker punch on his political rivals as he took to his stronghold, Kipushi, where he flexed the muscle of his popularity.
Scores of Kipushi residents took to the streets as early as morning to prepare for the arrival of Katumbi and his Congo Ya Makasi allies.
Katumbi and his allies marched side by side with the locals in the border town of Kipushi.
At the rally, Kipushi residents promised to give Katumbi their mandate with the Ensemble Pour la Republique leader promising to address the various challenges that the population has been faced with.
Kipushi residents also bade farwell to the disastrous Fèlix Tshisekedi regime of corruption, tribalism, fake promises as well as plundering of public funds.
Katumbi has been widely tipped by a number of detailed surveys to win Wednesday’s election ahead of Tshisekedi by an overwhelming margin.
