Former Transport & Communications Minister Cherubin Okende will finally be put to rest seven months after his assassination by secret agents sent by impostor president Fèlix Tshisekedi.
Okende, a spokesperson of opposition leader Moïse Katumbi, was kidnapped with his body found riddled with bullets in his car on 13th July in Kinshasa.
The Okende family have since confirmed the burial of the former Minister will be held on Wednesday March 20, a day after his wake at the Protestant Centenary.
A mass will then be held in Okende’s memory at the Notre-Dame du Congo Cathedral before his remains are interred at N’sele Necropolis.
After a pro-longed investigation, Congolese justice system ridiculously concluded that Okende had committed suicide by shooting himself in the stomach.
Okende’s family and his political allies have rejected the authorities’ conclusion which it has described as “staggering”.
