NIGHTMARE TRIP: Mazembe Spends Two Nights at Airport as Flight Problems Derail Trip to Mauritania

DR Congo champions TP Mazembe have spent two horrible nights at N’djili International Airport in Kinshasa due to technical problems with their flight.

Mazembe were on Wednesday scheduled to fly out to Nouakchott, Mauritania where they will face Al Hilal SC in the CAF Champions League on Sunday.

However, the club has not been able to leave the country and spent two sleepless nights at the airport after their Royal Air Maroc Boeing 737-800 encountered problems.

As of Friday night, the team has not yet arrived in the Mauritanian capital with several technical problems which are yet to be resolved.

Mazembe have endured a real nightmare that the RAM company inflicted on the team’s delegation in Kinshasa.

The Ravens left Lubumbashi on Wednesday for Kinshasa to connect to Nouakchott via Kinshasa and Casablanca.

While in the Congolese capital, the Ravens were due to board the Royal Air Maroc flight on Thursday at 6:15 a.m with the players and members of the technical staff had boarding the plane which encountered a string of uncertainties.

After over 3 hours of waiting in the plane, the team disembarked and had to sit in the waiting room.

The flight was finally cancelled on Thursday with the company promising to find a solution to the technical problem which has not still been rectified.
