Democratic Republic of Congo giants TP Mazembe will face Tunisian heavyweights Esperance Sportive des Tunis in the quarter-finals of the inaugural 2023 CAF African Football League competition.
The draw for the African Football League, the latest club competition organized by continent’s football governing body, was conducted yesterday at CAF headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.
Mazembe who are the DR Congo’s sole representative in the competition, will host the former African champions, Esperance in the first leg encounter to be played on 20 October, 2023 in Lubumbashi.
The second leg is scheduled to be played five days later in Tunis with the winner of the tie advancing to the last four.
The African Football League pits the continent’s top eight clubs with the winner expected to walk away with a whooping US$11.5 million.
