Fighting between the Congo Armed Forces (FARDC) and the M23 rebels has continued this Tuesday afternoon in Masisi territory of North Kivu Province.
The reported new wave of violence puts to bed the lies spread by the Congolese government that the army had managed to recapture Masisi from the rebels.
According to local sources, the fighting which broke out on Monday evening is taking place near Murambi, at Kasuku farm.
Yesterday, the army and Minister of Communication Patrick Muyaya lied to the nation when they announced that it had repelled a new M23 attack on its new positions in Ngungu, a territory which the rebels continue occupy.
In the meantime, a calm has been observed in the capital of the Masisi territory which is still under occupation of the M23.
