MOB JUSTICE: Two Wazalendo Militiamen Nearly Lynched by Locals in Rusayo

Two soldiers from the local Wazalendo miliatia were nearly lynched by locals in Goma of North Kivu Province.

Residents of the district of Rusayo descended on these two miliatiamen following report of a four-year old girl who was kidnapped and sexually abused by the Wazalendo who are equipped and supported by government.

The two members of the Wazalendo from South Kivu are said to have come to meet their mates with whom they are fighting the M23 rebels.

They were narrowly saved by the intervention of the Congolese army soldiers.

The Wazalendo, recruited by the government to support the army in the ongoing war, have been accused of committing several crimes including robbery, rape and exploitation.
