The Lutte Pour Le Changement (LUCHA), a non-governmental organization based in Goma, has revealed that M23 rebels have now managed to seize over 100 towns and villages in North Kivu Province.
Latest figures by LUCHA shows that the M23 rebels have a total of 101 territories in the eastern region under their control.
The DR Congo army (FARDC) are rapidly losing the battle due to lack reinforcements and armoury with more towns and villages expected to fall under the M23.
Last week the M23 rebels managed to seize over 15 territories which were under the control of the demotivated Congolese forces who literally gave away the towns without a fight.
