KIDNAPPERS: Police In Kinshasa Move To Quell Insecurity; Roundup Suspected Kidnappers

Police in Kinshasa yesterday rounded up about 27 suspected kidnappers who were presented to members of the press before being thrown in cells awaiting formal charges and prosecution

The police has since asked individuals with more information about the activities of the said kidnappers to furnish authorities with information by reporting to Dracena Avenue in the municipality of Gombe next to ISC.

Meanwhile, the Police Provincial Commissioner in the City of Kinshasa, Sylvano Kasongo Kitenge, has revealed that the City Hall no longer has the database of all vehicles designated as public transport operators in the Congolese capital.

According to Sylvano Kasongo, the registration data for taxis, taxi-buses, and motorcycle taxis should will facilitate easy and better tracking of criminals and kidnappers.
