Kahezi Moussana Jean, a young footballer of Goma amateur side FC Likonji, was probably dreaming of the match that’d take him a step closer to his dream before he met his fate on Thursday.
Kahezi Moussana was doing his pre-match warm ups with his Likonji teammates preparing to face Goma Academy at the Unité Stadium in Goma, North Kivu Province before the arena was hit with an explosive that detonated accidentally from a Military vehicle that got into a road mishap nearby the stadium.
The youngster was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead after succumbing to severe injuries.
Several other players from both teams as well as supporters were left badly injured and are currently receiving medical attention.
