DR Congo President Félix Tshisekedi has made changes to the nation’s Constitutional Court, the highest judicial body, as he prepares for the change of the national Constitution.
In a bid to eternalize the presidency, Tshisekedi is mobilizing his camp to support the change of Constitution that will allow him run for a third and illegal term of office in 2028.
Tshisekedi has appointed Odio Nonde Marthe and Kayindo Nguru Aristide as additional judges at the Constitutional Court.
To secure her appointment, Tshisekedi has retired the Odio Nonde Marthe from her position as First President of the Council of State and replaced her with Nsensele Wa Nsele.
Moke Mayele is the new Attorney General at the Constitutional Court while Jean-Pierre Mukolo was appointed Attorney General at the Council of State.
Tshisekedi has made these immediate changes ahead of his submission for the change of Constitution before parliament.
