IN DEFENCE OF DRC: Exiled Opposition Leader Calls For Popular Uprising To Thwart State Sponsored Attacks On Katumbi

Exiled Democratic Republic of Congo opposition leader Franck Diongo has issued a clarion call to his country for a popular resistance against imposter president Felix Tshisekedi’s sponsored attacks on Katumbi.

Diongo says the state’s raid on Mulonde in east Katanga where popular opposition leader Moise Katumbi is constructing a health facility and an emergency landing airstrip to access the rural area is a cover up to silence the opposition.

Diongo says Tshisekedi wants to silence the opposition as part of a scheme to alter the country’s constitution.

Several political actors in Congo have confirmed Tshisekedi wants to extend his term by another two years.

FRANCK DIONGO’S STATEMENT

CALL FOR SOLIDARITY IN THE FACE OF TSHILOMBO’S RELENTLESS ATTACK ON MOÏSE KATUMBI: DEFEND FREEDOM AND DEMOCRACY IN THE DRC.

For more than three years, Moïse Katumbi and his family, both political and biological, have suffered continuous persecution and discrimination orchestrated by the Tshilombo regime. This relentlessness aims to weaken him politically, financially and personally, directly threatening his freedom, security, and life.

It is therefore urgent to launch an appeal for national and international solidarity to ensure the protection of Katumbi. Key institutions such as the Catholic Church, the Protestant Church, the political opposition and civil society actors must mobilize to counter this growing threat.

The regime is seeking to block Katumbi’s involvement using pretexts such as the Katanga trail issue, and to prevent him from opposing the constitutional revision that threatens democracy. Attempts to block any progress towards democratic pluralism risk pushing even supporters of nonviolence to consider more extreme forms of resistance, including violence.

Unlike the Tshisekedi family, which benefited from Katumbi’s advantages and money, no other family benefited from his resources or favors in a comparable way.

This call for solidarity aims to defend not only Moïse Katumbi, but also democracy, freedoms, and the future of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Only the fight liberates!
