Ensemble Pour la Republique President Moïse Katumbi continued his on trail of revitalizing his party’s cause around the DR Congo ahead of the December Presidential Polls with a visit to the town of Makanza, in Équateur Province on Monday.
After nearly 10 long hours of navigating through the Congo River, President Katumbi arrived in Makanza with scores of residents turning out in large numbers to hand their incoming leader and his entourage a vigorous welcome.
Surprisingly, some residents of Makanza could not hold their excitement or wait for their incoming President to arrive on the mainland and preferred to meet him on the deep waters using their canoes.
President Katumbi during his visit described Makanza, a town located along the main channel of the Congo River as “heaven on earth” and took time to see the reality of the various challenges faced by the people of the territory.
In the company of local deputy Tania Mokolo, President Katumbi visited Makanza Health Center where he cushioned the poor patients burden by paying off all of their hospital bills.
“In Makanza, we had never seen anything like it. It’s an honor to welcome a man of Katumbi’s stature to our land,” said a resident of Makanza.
