GROSS MISCONDUCT: Four Mazembe Players Sent Back Home From Kinshasa For Acts of Indiscipline

Congolese giants TP Mazembe have confirmed that it has sent back four of its first team squad players back to Lubumbashi from camp in the capital Kinshasa for violating the club’s internal regulations.

The four players include midfielder Mercil Ngimbi, Ousseini Badamassi, Ibrahima Keita as well as Ernest Luzolo.

The players were sanctioned by management for failing to comply with the club’s internal camp rules after refusing to hand over their phones the day before the match against FC Les Aigles du Congo in the league play-offs.

The trio of Ngimbi, Badamassi and Keita has since returned to Lubumbashi while Luzolo has remained with the squad in Kinshasa after reconsidering his behavior and apologized to the team.

Meanwhile, Ngimbi has since written a letter to the club to request for the termination of his contract citing ‘personally motivated’ reasons.
