Newly-elected Kinshasa Governor Daniel Bumba is facing a torrid time having to appease the Provincial Deputies he bribed to rise to the governorate office during the elections.
Bumba who recently took office as new Kinshasa Governor after winning the elections last month, has received a list of hefty demands from Provincial Deputies as compensation for their role in his election.
The Provincial Deputies are demanding US$15,000 in bonuses and advance payment of their salaries or emoluments for the next six months.
These corrupt officials have threatened to block the official installation of new provincial government slated for this week should Bumba fail to meet to their demands.
Prior to the election, Bumba had bribed the provincial deputies with luxurious Jeep vehicles to buy their votes in the governorate elections.
