Pascal Beveraggi is at large and nowhere to be seen in the Democratic Republic of Congo where he is being pursued and prosecuted by the courts for forgery, breach of trust, bankruptcy and money laundering.
The official also owes his lawyer $5.5 million in legal fees.
There is no trace of his whereabouts.
“But we learn that an order has just been given for the search notice issued at the beginning of January to be lifted,” a source in the government security wing says.
