FRANK DIONGO: Salomon’s Brutal Arrest & Treatment Is Part Of Tshisekedi’s Scheme To Silence Opposition

Opposition leader Franck Diongo says President Félix Tshisekedi has sponsored a brutal regime to silence the opposition in the Democratic Republic of Congo ahead of the December 20 presidential and parliamentary elections.

Diongo, president of the MLP, says the brutal arrest of Salomon Kalonda Della, senior advisor to Moise Katumbi, is part of the scheme to give Tshisekedi a free pass in the election.

“This brutal and irregular arrest of @SalomonKalonda is a democratic regression and a disgrace for all fighters for democracy and the rule of law in the DRC,” Diongo said.

Diongo was recently released from after being arrested on trumped up charges.

“I was the personal prisoner of Mr Félix Tshilombo who wanted the physical elimination of a historic and charismatic opponent to his regime in order to get rid of the next presidential election for which he is a candidate,” he said.

He said Tshisekedi’s time has come and the people of Congo must decide to remove the incompetent regime.

“Knowing that his time is counted on the margin of the date set by the CENI for holding the presidential election that brings him closer to the exit door, Mr. Félix Tshilombo must avoid piling up too many corpses in his closet. He must release the hostages still alive, detained arbitrarily, like Solomon SK DELLA, Mike MUKEBAYI and so many other compatriots,” Diongo says.

The vocal leader says the people of Congo are enduring torrid times under Tshisekedi with unemployment, poverty and hunger on the rise.

“More than 85% of Congolese live in unprecedented food scarcity,” he said.

Diongo says since his exit from prison where he was held on Tshisekedi’s orders, his health has never been the same.
