Five-time CAF Champions League winners TP Mazembe have announced the signing of Lebanese international Rabih Ataya after the player impressed while on trials at the club.
Mazembe confirmed the signing of the 33-year old attacker on a free transfer on Tuesday ahead of the 2022/23 season.
Ataya who has spent the last two months in the DR Congo trialing with Mazembe, has signed a one-year contract with the Kamalondo giants.
Named Lebanese top-flight best player in 2019, Ataya has 18 caps for the Lebanon national team and scored four goals.
He is Mazembe’s third signing after the club also announced the arrivals of Mauritanian international defender Ibrahim Keita who has signed a two-year deal as well as Malian attacking starlet Cheikh Oumar Abdallah Fofana.
Mazembe are looking to strengthen their squad as target glory in next season’s CAF Champions League campaign.
