Democratic Republic of Congo’s impostor president Félix Tshisekedi has ordered the arrest of Indian businessman Harish Jagtani, his wife and first lady, Denise Nyakeru’s close business associate.
Jagtani who has dealt with Tshisekedi’s wife Denise Nyakeru in several business transactions, has been in detention since Monday at 6:45 pm at his penthouse on the 19th floor of the CTC building.
Harish Jagtani owns of several companies in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
“He is being held by the National CyberDefense Council (CNC), an agency of the presidency oof the Republic headed ooby Jean Claude Bukasa. The motives for his arrest remain unknown for the time being,” one of the rich businessman’s relatives has said.
Thanks to his relations with the Tshisekedi government, Harish Jagtani is an influential businessman who owns several companies, notably the Modern Construction company, Hilton Kinshasa Hotel, CTC Building, Serv Air Airline, Supreme Automobile, HJ Hospital, HJ Foundation, HJ PHARMA Pharmaceutical Warehouse and Kinshasa City Garden.
Reports indicate that Tshisekedi is accusing Jagtani of secretly dealing with the AFC/M23 rebel-coalition leader Corneille Nangaa who is said to have recently used one of the Indian businessman’s private jets.
