Opposition Ecide party leader Martin Fayulu says impostor president Félix Tshisekedi must be charged with high treason for attempting to change or revise the national Constitution.
On Tuesday night, Fayulu appeared on France 24 where he strongly condemned Tshisekedi for attempting to hold the nation at ransom with his move to temper with the Constitution.
Fayulu further urged the Congolese population to rise and ensure that Tshisekedi does not succeed in his attempt to turn the nation into a dictatorship.
“Mr Tshisekedi talks about changing the constitution. And this is what we cannot accept. He will be accused of high treason. The country is threatened by Mr. Tshisekedi, we must all come together to block his path,” Fayulu said.
Tshisekedi’s current and final term of office comes to an end in 2028 as the Constitution stipulates but the ruling Sacred Union alliance are attempting to amend the constitution in order for the president to continue his reign illegally.
