Nobel Prize winner Dr. Denis Mukwege says the presence of ex-rebels Jean Pierre Bemba and Mbusa Nyamwisi in President Felix Tshisekedi’s government represents double jeopardy for the Democratic Republic of Congo.
In a statement, says the appointment of former rebels demonstrates paradigm shift that did not represent a democratic governance system.
“After the appointments of Bemba and Nyamwisi to the government, this new appointment of a former rebel leader to a strategic position demonstrates to public opinion that the paradigm shift is not about to happen with the administration Tshisekedi. The words and actions of the latter contradict each other every day, jeopardizing the Congolese Nation and the chances of restoring the country,” he said.
